Eligibility & Exclusion Criteria
Eligibility criteria
Who can apply?
- Applicants must have a business idea or exciting business,
- Applicants must be residents of Ethiopia and must have an ID,
- Applicants can apply individually or as a team of two, and
- Applicants must complete at least 10 th grade.
Exclusion criteria
Who can’t apply?
Applicants with business/idea that do not meet social, environmental and governance compliance criteria such as:
- Alcohol, tobacco & drug-related businesses,
- Weapons manufacturer & warrelated activities,
- Gambling/betting,
- Sex-related industries,
- State owned businesses,
- Parastatal actors; for manufacturing,
- Applicants with funding of unlawful and political purposes,
- Applicants who received funding from other sources (competitions, governmental or NGO funding),
- Applicants can not apply if they are employees of Awash Bank,
- Applicants who are among the top 20 finalists from previous Tatariwochu competition, and
- Applicants that have a business/idea owned by more than 2 people.
